Alternative Medicine and Holistic Health Take Center Stage at 2nd Annual Wellness Village During KJLH Women’s Health Forum

Hosted by Dominique DiPrima of the Front Page, 2011 Wellness Village to feature African-American leaders in alternative medicine

Alternative medicine and holistic healthcare options will take center stage at the 2nd annual Wellness Village taking place Saturday, April 2 (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) during the 11th KJLH Women’s Health Forum at the Los Angeles Convention Center. More than 3,000 adult women and teen females are expected to attend the annual event for a day of in-depth health dialogue led by a diverse panel of health professionals.  With a focus on health disparities impacting African-Americans and the promotion of healthier lifestyles, Wellness Village attendees will be provided with vital information on the latest treatments and developments in alternative medicine and holistic healthcare through workshops and panels featuring a broad array of African-American medical doctors who are leaders and pioneers in holistic healthcare including weight loss, diabetes, cancer, Naturopathy, reflexology, Homeopathy, and others areas of medicine. In addition, participants will be treated to on site access to a variety of health screenings, contests, giveaways, and free exercise and yoga classes.

The Wellness Village will be hosted by Front Page radio show host Dominique DiPrima and will feature popular guest speakers including India Holloway, founder of The Life Well Institute and Ultimate Transformations Training founder and motivational speaker Coach Erich “E” Nall.

“In the past decade, ‘alternative’ health treatments have become more accepted in African-American communities,” explains Dominique DiPrima. “More and more Blacks are using alternative medicine to prevent and control chronic diseases.”

This year’s panel discussions include: Battle of the Healers: Alternative vs. Western Medicine (11 a.m.), Do These Pants Make Me Look Fat? Alternative Means to Lose Weight and Eat Healthier (12 p.m.), and Who Gets More Love…You or Your Car? Basic Body Maintenance (1 p.m.).

Free to attend and open to the public, the 2nd annual Wellness Village will take place Saturday, April 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Los Angeles Convention Center’s West Hall in rooms 520 A & B.  For more information, please log onto or
