I was driving home yesterday listening to the news when a story came on about how Los Angeles’ Metropolitan Water District was launching another public relations campaign to get residents of Los Angeles to conserve more water…voluntarily.

I couldn’t help but to start laughing out loud in my car.

Now that’s a waste of money I thought to myself.

The Water District already launched the best campaign in the world to get us to voluntarily cutback on our water usage back in March. They approved a 14.3% increase in our 2009 rates for water! If there’s one sure way to get people to cutback on their usage of public utilities like water, gas, and power, it’s to raise the amount we pay for it.

Just look at how the drastic raise in prices for gasoline and food has forced people to voluntarily cutback on how much driving they do and how much food they buy.
