I thought I’d take a moment to give a shout out to everyone who worked on NPR’s ‘News & Notes’ program. Today marks the last day of the show as the network as decided that colored folks don’t need their own dedicated one-hour national news program.

It’s a shame that with all of NPR’s programming, including its duplicitous programming, that it choose to cut ‘News & Notes.’ I was at the NPR West studio last Friday taping Monday’s show and the mood among the ‘News & Notes’ crew was somber to the say the least. Watching folks take boxes out to their car just isn’t a good feeling, especially while your co-workers are going on as business a usual and know where their next paycheck is coming from.

Today’s parting shot is NPR’s top dawg Vivian Schiller on speaking on the issue of diversity. After you stop laughing or screaming…feel free to drop her a note at vschiller@npr.org on how you feel about ‘News & Notes’ cancellation and the joke that’s called diversity at NPR.

As for my N+N crew, keep your head, don’t be strangers, and let me know if I can ever do anything to help you.  Thank you for everything that you’ve done and tried to do at NPR.  We love you!
