It’s high campaign season in Los Angeles and one race we’ve got eyes on is the race to replace our friend and sheroe termed out former Assembly Speaker Karen Bass in Assembly District 47,  who, if you’ve been living under a rock, is running for Congress.

This weekend, California Democratic Party Secretary Reggie Jones-Sawyer and his supporters officially kicked off his campaign for Assembly District 47.  The event was held at the campaign’s headquarters located at 3824 South Crenshaw Boulevard in Los Angeles and attended by Assemblymember Wrren Furutani, Inglewood Councilmember and Mayoral candidate Danny Tabor, SCLC’s Eric Lee and a whole host of others.

This is going to be one of those campaigns that splits the Black political community in half because KB (Karen Bass) is supporting Holly Mitchell, president of Crystal Stairs.

It’s a good thing we’ve been down this road before. We know a lot of shit is going to be talked leading up to election day, but the day after the election, it’ll be all good, lol.

The 47th Assembly District includes Culver City, West Los Angeles, Westwood, Cheviot Hills, Leimert Park, Baldwin Hills, Windsor Hills, Mid-City, West Adams, Ladera Heights, the Crenshaw District, Little Ethiopia and portions of Korea Town and South Los Angeles.

Voters will go to the polls in California’s Primary Election on Tuesday, June 8.

Who am I supporting in the 47th? I’ll tell ya later.
