Common Sense Legislation: The Swine Flu

Okay so I know more than a few people in L.A. with the Swine Flu…and believe it or not, they’re going to work! Yes—going to work and spreading that shit around like it’s the thing to do. Not because they want to, no, I don’t think they dislike their co-workers that much, but because they’re afraid to lose their job in this economy. I can’t blame them there. Some of them just don’t have any sick time left, others don’t get sick time at all and can’t take the hit so they’re sucking it up and going to work anyway.

So I gots to thinking, because you know, that’s what I do.

I think it’d be a nice gesture and use of taxpayer money to put forth resolutions at both the local and state level encouraging employers to allow employees to take the time off without repercussions with a legitimate doctor’s note stating that they have the Swine Flu. I mean it could only help.

I for one don’t want to catch the Swine Flu and if there’s anything that can be done to help keep people at home where they belong with that shit, well then let’s hop to it or else it’s going to be a long and vicious flu season in Los Angeles County, I can tell you that.

Thoughts?
