The 18th annual Black lesbian retreat SISTAHFEST will take place September 21-24, 2006 in Malibu, California. Hosted by United Lesbians for African Heritage (U.L.O.A.H.) and attended by Black women from all over the country, SISTAHFEST is the nation’s largest retreat that focuses on empowering Black lesbians. The four day retreat will feature workshops, forums, a film festival, performances and is open to Black lesbians of all ages.

“Once again U.L.O.A.H. is looking forward to bringing Black lesbians from all over the world together to celebrate their uniqueness and provide four days of empowerment and safe space,” commented SISTAHFEST coordinator Marquita Thomas. “I encourage all Black women who may be lesbian, bisexual, or still questioning their sexual orientation to experience SISTAHFEST and connect with other women who are just like them.”
