Today hundreds of Angelino’s are getting on the bus and heading to Jena, Louisiana, to participate in a march and rally to call attention to the case of the Jena 6. They’ll be meeting up with others from around the country that are expected to descend upon the little town of Jena, LA on Thursday, September 20.
And as expected, the drama has already begun with the Associated Press (i.e. mainstream media) reporting on Friday that “Six schools in southern LaSalle Parish will close Thursday because the Rev. Jesse Jackson has said thousands of people will be in Jena for the sentencing of a black student accused of beating a white classmate in December.” But it gets worst, the story also goes on to say that School Board member Billy Fowler said “There is a possibility that schools could close the next day as well, depending on what happens.”
Translation: “If these n—gers act a fool and start rioting, school is canceled.
I keep you telling you that you have to read between lines especially when it comes to the mainstream media.
Now interestingly enough, in the AP’s story they never mention the nooses that were hanging from a tree on the grounds of the school that sparked all of this madness.
Now why is that? If you didn’t know anything about the case in Jena, you’d read the AP’s short story and think that some Black kids just beat a white kid for no reason, out of the blue for the sheer fun of it.
Instead they write, “…black student accused of beating a white classmate in December.”
Further down in the story it reads, “Jena Six — a group of black teenagers charged in the beating of Justin Barker.”
It’s almost laughable the way the media can do away with facts when it wants too. Mind you, this case has been going on for a while now and it has only been in recent days that the mainstream media has picked it up. But I almost would rather they didn’t report on it if they’re going to half ass it and give the impression that these kids just beat a white kid for no reason, and now angry Blacks are headed to Jena where schools are being closed for fear of rioting.
I stopped taking mainstream news for truth a long time ago for this exact reason. It’s biased and Friday’s AP story entitled, “Sharpton: Whites should join rally supporting `Jena Six‘” is a perfect example of that considering that they don’t even mention Sharpton’s quote until the fifth paragraph out of only six. Choosing instead to open the story with “Six schools in southern LaSalle Parish will close Thursday because the Rev. Jesse Jackson has said thousands of people will be in Jena for the sentencing of a black student accused of beating a white classmate in December.”
Sharpton’s name was only used in the headline for his name recognition. Once they got you reading, then their motive with the piece became crystal clear.
Translation: “The n—gers are coming are coming to Jena!”
People do not let the mainstream media twist this story around. If you hear people talking about it and they don’t have all the facts, like the noose swinging from the tree, please fill them in. We can’t let the mainstream media paint these kids as having just beaten this white kid without provocation.
On Thursday, Mychal Bell, the only one tried so far, will be sentenced for his conviction on aggravated second-degree battery charges and faces up to 15 years in prison, which is down from the 50 years he was facing before the charges were downgraded.
Both Rev. Al Sharpton and Rev. Jesse Jackson will be on hand in Jena to lead the march and rally on Thursday. Jackson said as many as 40,000 people could be on hand for the sentencing.
For those of us that can’t make it out to Jena for the rally, Thursday everyone is being asked to wear Blacks to signify unity against the continuing unequal justice for Blacks in America.
