Yesterday quickly went from bad to worse.
I think the worst moment came when Sheriff Lee Baca got testy and told reporters that his office has contacted Michael Richardson via phone regarding the positive ID of the remains in Malibu as being his missing daughter Mitrice Richardson and that when Michael checked his answering machine, he’d find a machine.
Who does that?
Who holds a press conference on the death of someone’s daughter before making contact, real physical “I talked to you in person or on the phone contact” with the next of kin?
Is that what we’ve come to? The life of a Black woman has now been reduced to leaving messages on answering machines.
Add to that, Baca, also told reporters that he himself only found out about the positive ID of the remains being Mitrice’s at 9 a.m., 30 minutes prior to the pres conference. Although, it was on the City’s news wire services shortly after 8 a.m., KFI 640 AM announced it around 8:15 a.m., and ABC 7 sent out a tweet about it at 8:33 a.m. that I got on my phone.
So you mean to tell me that the head Sheriff didn’t know about it until 9 a.m. Even I knew before 9 a.m. Who is he trying to fool?
Anyways, we’re going to play the audio of that message on KJLH 102.3 FM this morning beginning at 4:30 a.m. so tune in and if you’re not in L.A. check for it on www.kjlhradio.com streaming live. Also we podcast every show so it will be on iTunes shortly after we end the show at 6 a.m.
Let’s see anyone other than the Black media report on that.
