To no one’s surprise, O.J. Simpson has willingly put himself back into the limelight with a new book and a fresh Fox News interview.
“If I Did It, Here’s How It Happened” is the name of the new O.J. tell all book that allegedly tells for the first time how he would have committed the murders if he were the one responsible for the crimes.
Some people just can’t leave well enough alone.
I am not surprised at Fox News airing the interview, after all, it is a network in the business of making money, and what better way to make millions than to air an exclusive interview with a man who many people think got away with murder.
But moving on to O.J…
My guess is the only motivation behind the book was to make money, plain and simple. There’s no other logical explanation for O.J. to bring back up the issue of his acquittal for the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Simpson Brown and her friend Ron Goldman. It has afterall, been over 10 years.
As expected, America is up in arms about the whole thing which will only lead to more sales, more eyeballs when the interview airs, more publicity, and of course more blog posts, because as you know, everyone blogs.
And don’t forget the big racial divide over this case. Dubbed the “trial of the century,” many Blacks were pitted against whites as they believed and continue to believe that O.J. is innocent.
Still, I can’t help but wonder, what would Johnnie Cochran say about all of this?
Would he say let sleeping dogs lie? Or, would he support O.J. in his quest to make money at the expense of grieving families and a nation already suffering from a racial divide?
One thing is for sure, we can expect the water cooler chitchat to return to O.J. Simpson over the next couple of weeks as O.J., his publishers, Fox News, and the media are expected to milk this thing for all it’s worth.
