I had a chance to pop into this year’s 25th anniversary of Los Angeles Black Gay Pride–yes you read right–Black Gay Pride. I attended the awards dinner where Congresswoman Maxine Waters was honored with the Duane Bremond Humanitarian Award. Duane, a former aide of Waters, was also the founder of At the Beach Los Angeles Black Pride, now known as Pride and Promote. Also pictured is TV personality B. Scott, who shared his BET Awards experience and being asked to change clothes courtesy of BETs Debra Lee, and Black Pride boardmember Chonsie Bullock.
Below, I’m with my friend till the end Councilmember Jan Perry and Congresswoman Waters.
Congrats L.A. on 25 years of Black gay pride!
