Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck will hold a community briefing on the outside patio of Starbucks located at 3722 S. Crenshaw Boulevard in Los Angeles on Thursday, July 22 at 10:30 a.m. to discuss the July 10 arrest of Mark Rudolph Reed, a man wanted for the 2007 killing and burying of a man in DeKalb County, Georgia.
Mark Rudolph Reed is wanted on a murder warrant for the 2007 death of Marlon Greene.
Los Angeles Police arrested Reed, 42, without incident on July 10 in front of the Goodwill in the shopping center located at the intersection of Crenshaw and Coliseum boulevards after receiving a tip from a group of local community members. Reed is being held without bond and scheduled to be extradited to DeKalb.
DeKalb investigators received a call last year from police in California about Greene’s death. A woman told police in California that Reed had killed an Atlanta man and buried him off River Road in Ellenwood, according to a DeKalb Police report.
Reed was indicted after DeKalb investigators flew to California and interviewed the woman.
