I first met Ellene Vicky Miles through my good friend Gil Robertson, one of America’s most dynamic writers and publicists. One day over coffee at Starbucks, Gil casually mentioned that he knew another Black lesbian public relations guru and he thought we should meet because we had a lot in common.
Ellene, or Vicky as she likes to be called, is one of the driving forces behind DVA Public Relations, a full service agency to the stars.
Ellene is responsible for the media strategy and execution for the agency’s film, television and lifestyle clients. Prior to joining DVA, she held positions with WVST Radio and Television, Priority Records, and University of Southern California. She graduated from my school, California State University at Dominguez Hills and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations and Communications.
Aside from public relations, Vicky is a blossoming filmmaker having already produced one film and is currently working on another.
One of the things that Vicky and I have in common is that we both dig good music. We often swap music and hip each other to new albums and concerts featuring our favorite artists. Artists we like include Esthero, Vikter Duplaix, and Zero 7.
Ellene loves her job and she’s good at it. She’s one of the best publicists I know and she’s always willing to lend a helping hand, which in pr is almost unheard of. Us publicists can sometimes get a little stingy with our contacts, but not Vicky.
Vicky as always been one to support L.A.’s same-gender loving community. Most times behind the scene, Vicky has used her position to help organizations she cares about.
She’s beautiful both inside and out and that’s what makes her a Lesbian I Love.

Do you prefer fem or butch women and why?
I like a nice balance of both. We all have each of those traits in us. I‘m most interested in women who are comfortable displaying all sides of themselves.
Favorite body part and why?
A sexy back… not sure why; just does something to me.
As Black a woman do you prefer natural or straight hair and why?
I love our hair in its natural state, and that is how I wear mine… but I respect a sista’s right to choose what works best for her and her lifestyle…
