Meet Treazure Lee. I met Treazure when you she started TreazureMag.com, an online magazine on all things related to Black lesbian women.

An entrepreneur and a mother, Treazure was the inspiration behind my walking the Revlon Run/Walk for Breast Cancer this year. She is a breast cancer survivor.

Over the course of the last year or so that I’ve known Treazure, she’s been very active in L.A.’s Black lesbian community. From hosting parties to road trips and community discussions, Treazure has made it her passion to represent and provide a space both on and offline for Black lesbian women.

It’s for these reasons and for the fact that I admire anyone who takes the time to do anything for the community, that Treazure is this week’s Lesbian I Love.

What’s your favorite color?
I love black, but it isn’t a color, it’s a darkner.

What’s your favorite food?
Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles

Do you prefer fem or butch women and why?
I find fem females extremely attractive, but I prefer soft studs—someone I can walk down the street with and the world won’t say, “was that a man or woman?” The reason I prefer soft studs—I love that aggressive part of her during the sun light and knowing who she is in the p.m. Meaning…she has no issues with being a woman in the bed and is not trying to be a man.

Favorite body part and why?
I love breasts. It seems to stimulate a female with the slightest caress.

As Black a woman do you prefer natural or processed hair and why?
It doesn’t matter.

What in your opinion are the biggest issues facing Black lesbians and our solutions if any?
In many situations we have to set aside who we are to blend or fit in. I don’t believe there is a solution due to the fact everyone is different and everyone thinks differently. Therefore, those outside of our lifestyle may never agree with who we are.

McCain or Obama, and why?
I would love for Obama to win, but I don’t want him to get the blame for this mess. They will try and dump it on him knowing it was here years before him.

Who’s in your iPod/CD Player?
“Here in my Arms,” a song I inspired someone to write.

What’s your favorite quote?
“No man or woman is worth your tears and the one who is won’t make you cry.”

Who’s your favorite author and why?
Azaan Kamau. When you read her words you feel her soul.

When you watch television, what do you watch?
It’s rare that I watch TV. I watch it when I’m at someone else’s house and that’s only if they are watching Jack Ass.

What’s something that many people don’t know about you?
That I rather be in the background. That I get my strength from others when they say they get their strength from me.
