This past weekend Black same-gender loving folks from all over the country ascended upon the Los Angeles for the 19th Annual AT THE BEACH Los Angeles Black Pride celebration.

Known for it’s signature Malibu Beach Party, this year was no different as folks were lined up before sunrise ready to get their party on At the Beach.

A couple of highlights from this year included former Motown, now SoulThought recording artist Donnie, the cast and creators of the DL Chronicles and special screening of the first three episodes, and a sneak peak at Amber Sharp’s new lesbian series “Don’t Go.”  Also new, the after party, which is traditionally held at the host hotel, was held at the California African American Museum

Also popular, this year’s hot body contest was fierce in all three categories, Diva, Ladies, and Men.

All in all I had a great time and I am happy it’s over with.  Kudos to everyone who helped pull it off this year.  Job well done! And thanks to everyone who made time in their schedule to attend.

The 20th Annual Los Angeles Black Pride celebration is taking place July 1-6, 2008.  mark your calendars now…
