MTA Bus Driver Vanishes

On Saturday, September 11, Richard Cox, vanished from his apartment on Cochran and San Vicente Avenues in Los Angeles.  He was last seen after picking up his daughter from work.  His keys were found hanging from his mailbox and blood was found on a nearby gate.  His car was still parked in his parking stall and his front door was open and unlocked.

Richard, who is also known by the nickname Rick, is a bus driver for the MTA out of Division 5.  He is 46, 6’1, and approximately 200 pounds.

Family and friends say they have no idea what has happened to him.

Police are asking the public to contact the LAPD Wilshire Division with any information regarding Mr. Cox’s whereabouts.  The phone number is (213) 996-1800.

    This is so sad. As a fellow MTA Bus Operator (retired), my heart and prayers go out 2 his family. I hope that there is a serious search going on for him. MTA, this is one of your own, please help find him!

    Today, somebody told me that he was found dead. They said a friend of theirs asked a bus driver and he told him that. But I don’t know if it’s true. It could all be gossip. You know how folks always throw on extras. But I hope it’s not true because I’ve had his flyer posted at my job since the day his family came around looking for him.
