It is going down this Saturday in L.A.!

Not only will Morehouse College and Prairie View A&M University be in the house for the 2008 Angel City Classic, but my girl N’Dambi will be performing live during the 5th Quarter Concert saluting the late Isaac Hayes.

Along with N’Dambi, Lalah Hathaway, Anthony Hamilton, and Angie Stone will take the stage and perform their hit songs.

The Concord/Stax sponsored event will be reminiscent of Isaac Haye’s performance at the historic WattsStax that bolstered Hayes’ career. In fact, Hayes was slated to perform at the Stax Records 5th Quarter Tribute until his sudden passing in August.

The Angel City Classic, to be nationally televised on Fox Sports Net, will feature a McDonald’s Battle of The Bands, Greek tailgate parties, a dynamic youth football playoff, a Band Clinic, as well as a King & Queen Competition for High School Seniors who will be given a $5,000.00 scholarship. Local radio personality Cliff Winston is on tap to do the play-by-play, with a host of grass roots organizers, church leaders and elected officials all working together to promote education at Historically Black Colleges and Universities for minorities living in Southern California .

Acclaimed actor/producer Nick Cannon, along with his “Stop Hating” campaign, will serve as the celebrating ambassador of the event. Joining him will be former “My Wife and Kids” star actress Jennifer Freeman, who will be conducting VIP and celebrity red carpet interviews.

Don’t sleep. It’s going down Saturday, September 27th at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. For more information and ticket purchases, call (323) 290-4100 or visit www.angelcityclassic.com.
