Only in L.A…Can You Ice Skate, Outdoors, and It’s 80 Degrees!

Thanks to sponsorship from the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, the Los Angeles Kings, and Councilmember Jan Perry (9th District), you too can come downtown and ice skate…until Monday, January 19th that is.

If you take the Metro, the deal is even sweeter.  You can receive a $1 skating session discount by showing a coupon available for downloading via the Destinations Discounts webpage at www.metro.net. For those of us that still drive, no worries, there’s underground discount parking is available with validation.

All this for the low low price of $6 (+skate rental $2).  You’re gonna spend more than that when you go and see “Notorious” this weekend at the movies.

These are the last few days to get your ice skate on…

Much thanks to Councilwoman Jan Perry and Staff, Betsy Annas, Pam LaFleur, and the staff of Downtown on Ice!

The Court of Public Opinion

  • I can see that you and Councilwoman Perry are really L.A. folk. Ice skaters you all aren’t. Thank heavens there were no broken limbs. Kudos for your “Bravery On Ice”

And thanks for today’s smile! I needed that.
