Democratic Congresswoman Barbara Lee of California has long been a favorite of mine.
As Vice-Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, she’s been a staunch opponent of the War in Iraq. She earned a “you go girl” from me when she took a challenge to live on $21 worth of food stamps for a week, the average weekly benefit for a food stamp recipient.
Yesterday, Lee announced that she was supporting Senator Barack Obama’s bid for President.
”He does represent that bridge to the future; he represents hope, new direction which our country desperate needs. This is a very powerful and defining moment for our country, and my conscience is my guide. I can’t sit on the sidelines when we have an opportunity to move forward.”
You go girl…again!
