Sheriff Lee Baca Confirmed to Attend Town Hall Meeting on Mitrice Richardson

Yes–you read right.  Sheriff Lee Baca is confirmed to attend the National Association for Justice and Equality in America’s town hall meeting regarding Mitrice Richardson this Monday.

This might not ever happen again so if you’re in the Los Angeles area, you don’t want to miss it.

Here are the details… and please click the RSVP link if you’re planning on attending.  There’s an effort to get Radio Free 102.3 KJLH to broadcast the meeting live and it all depends on how many people are planning to turn out for it.

Sheriff Baca – RELEASE THE BOOKING VIDEO!

HAND OVER the BOOKING VIDEO or
Place yourself under arrest for theft or destruction of Los Angeles County property!

Don’t tell us that you can’t release the video because it may be part of the pending civil lawsuits – that is not your domain, the Board of Supervisors will be dealing with the lawsuits.

Remember, like earlier this year when they spent near $1 million of our money to settle a harassment lawsuit against the Sheriff Department brought by a deputy who had been a candidate for election against you.

I know that Whitmore always likes to tell us that “you look forward to telling your side of the story in court.” I don’t recall reading that Sheriff Baca and Steve Whitmore begged the Board of Supervisors not to settle the lawsuit. They stopped it from going to trial – you don’t get to tell your side of the story in court.

Now hand the booking video over to the Board of Supervisors and it will be off your hands – we will then deal with them.

I would like to know something Sheriff Baca:

Has Deputy Armando Louriero or Deputy McKay or Deputy Frank Brower worked an assignment in South County earlier in his career?

Was there ever an issue(S) of questionable use of force during a non-dispatched vehicle stop or pedestrian stop?

Was there ever an accusation(S) of innappropriate or illegal contact with a black female citizen resulting in eventual transfer away from patrol in the black community?

Were you Sheriff Baca, (either as Sheriff, or as a supervising Lieutenant before you were elected Sheriff) ever directly involved with the determination and discipline of any complaint or accusation against any of the three named deputies?

Sheriff Baca – when can we expect you to arrest Deputy Frank Brower and have him charged with two counts of battery on Ms. Richardson for touching her hand and wrist to measure her pulse under the false pretense of performing a Field Sobriety Test?
