"My name is Mrs. Shirley Q. Liquor. I be done had 19 babies before my "female parts" done fell straight out of my ass."—Charles Knipp as Shirley Q. Liquor

Well, Shirley Q. Liquor, ak.a. Charles Knipp, the white gay man who dresses up in drag and performs as a Black welfare mother with 19 kids who speaks Ebonics,  is up and running with a new slate of shows just in time for Pride season.

As I have said before, there’s no accounting for taste, and Charles Knipp is proof positive of that.  As long as he has a contingency of followers that are willing to pay to see him mock Blacks, he’s going to be around.

But what’s even more disturbing to me is that I have never known a white person that was so obsessed with Black people.  It kind of makes me wonder if he’s acting out some fantasy of his of wanting to be a Black woman.  If that’s the case, I can’t blame him, Black women are the Queens of the Earth.  But I can’t see that being the case as Knipp consistently disrespects and mocks Blacks in his routines.

Over the weekend, a friend emailed me several web links from Charles Knipp as Shirley Q. Liquor.  What I found most interesting is that these links prove more than ever how racist he truly is.

Here’s a quote from one link:

"What make syrup taste so good?"

"It is due to the fact of it is made of 99 macent sugar. It have more sugar in syrups than even a Mr. Goodbar, Now-andLater candies, or even a Dr. Peppers."

"Axe your guidance counsellor or WIC representative for a brochure concerning syrups."
