The Curious Case of the LAPD and Ezell Ford Autopsy Results

We’re not against the police. We’re not against the police department, but we are against police who commit misconduct (and those who help cover it up).

The autopsy and investigative findings into the death of an unarmed Black man in Los Angeles names Ezell Ford were supposed to be announced Monday, December 22 at 3 p.m. The press conference was cancelled because of what happened in New York. LAPD believes that its officers are under ADDED threat based on what happened.

Now in order for Mayor Eric Garcetti to not to be a liar that information has to be released during Kwanzaa, sometime between December 26 and December 31–because the mayor did say that we would get it before the end of the year so that takes January 1 out of the picture completely.

But the mayor also said on December 8 on KNX 1070 AM that we’d have it by December 22 and that the public wouldn’t have to wait until the end of year.

In my best gameshow host voice—we asked when do you think the Ezell Ford autopsy results will be release. Survey says:

We asked who do you blame for the delay in releasing the Ezell Ford autopsy results. Survey says:

Although the charts are not able to indicate just HOW stupid the people are that took the survey, they do make a rather convincing case for their general stupidity. In their minds, patrol officers leave a radio call, perform an autopsy, collaborate to skew the results based on their racist views, then withhold the results to suit their own needs. I’m pretty sure the coroner decides what to do with the results and it’s not going to be handing them over to the LAPD chief to decide what to do with them. What do the conspiracy theorists expect to get from these results anyway? He’s dead, we know who shot and killed him. I honestly want to know what y’all expect to glean from the results.

3 police officers within 2 days were MURDERED and this fool doesn’t understand a delay for an autopsy. 1 killed and 3 injured again in South LA yesterday and this fool refuses to acknowledge the black on black crime in that area. No protests about that with all the gangsters at yesterday’s. To have a gangster like THe GAME as a role model in that protest is really funny. These gangster rappers hate women, their moms, love gangster and hood life, love guns and violence but no one speaking out about that.

No sir, the patrol officers do not perform the autopsy, skew the results and then withhold the results to suit their own needs.
That is the coroner who performs the autopsy. The Chief of Police who tries to skew the results with 3 of his people flanking the medical examiner while he performs the autopsy and collaborating to influence his examination and results.
Then it is the Chief of Police who has the authority under statute to place an administrative hold on release of the autopsy results when needed to further legitimate goals of an ongoing investigation/prosecution.
Chief Beck has utilized his authority to delay release of the autopsy while ostensibly providing a legitimate explanation for this move.
However, each recitation by Beck of his official version of the Ezell Ford shooting serves to undercut the credibility of his own excuse for exercising his hold authority.
Here is one opinion of the situation: Beck has withheld the results to suit his own needs. He is on a mission to postpone and stymie any independent investigation into the E. Ford shooting.
