We’re not against the police. We’re not against the police department, but we are against police who commit misconduct (and those who help cover it up).

Continuing on with my series As the World Turns: the LAPD Edition

So there’s a guy who was recently arrested with the same name as the LAPD cop who killed Margaret Mitchell in 1999 on La Brea Avenue. Yep, the lady with the screwdriver for all of my Angelenos who remember their history.

Anyway, this guy with the same name as the cop was arrested for domestic violence–allegedly. We’ve discussed in vivid detail the Department’s ongoing issue with domestic violence among police officers.

Coincidentally, the LAPD cop with the same name as the guy arrested is allegedly on leave with pay right now.

I wonder if there’s a board of rights hearing in someone’s future because you know what the LAPD says: there’s no excuse for domestic violence.

If you can’t backup your own statement when you come on a news program, then SHUT UP!!

Amazing you remember this cops name. The Margaret Mitchell episode is one of the worst cases of police misconduct to ever go down, and that the DA or Grand Jury did not indict on at least a manslaughter charge was outrageous. I still get fumed about that shooting. It is also why we have so much civil unrest in Amerika today, because cops who engage is clear misconduct, and the Margaret Mitchell case was clearly misconduct, are never held accountable. A two tiered justice system, not unlike most totalitarian or Banana Republic type governments. Cannot believe you remembered the guys name…good job.

I am sure a condition of bail is to not be in possession of a firearm. Explains why he is on leave, but the paid part is weird.

THIS is the stuff we appreciate you for Jasmyne. Hit the LAPD where it hurts, instead of hitting the streets…
By the way, I have no doubt this dude is one and the same and he should be fired and thrown in jail…

Does it matter if he’s guilty?
