Thank you Lanre for reminding me that the summer is only 50 days away.  I really needed that added pressure right about now, lol.

For my L.A. folks, my man Lanre is getting ready to kick off his Spring Fever Training which is only $25.  You can file that under Recycling Black Dollars while doing something healthy for yourself.

I personally have no intentions on the summer creeping up on me and I am not where I want to be physically, even if I have to wire my jaws to the point where no french fry could ever fit through again , lol.

Who Is Lanre?

You might have seen Lanré on Biggest Loser, 101 Incredible Celebity Slimdowns, Starting Over, Entertainment Tonight, 20/20, CoreMaster and other fitness-related commercials.  Or, you might have read about him in People Magazine.  Or, you might have even bumped into him at NBC Ch. 4’s Health & Fitness Expo, your local gym, park or beach, training a client.

While in the medical school at University Chicago, Lanré became increasingly disenchanted with the current state of medicine. “Today’s medical climate,” according to Lanré, “seems to be focused on treating a patient’s symptoms, rather than the cause and getting patients in and out as quickly as possible.” Convinced that there had to be a better way to help and heal, Lanré made the difficult decision not to continue his pursuit of traditional medicine. Instead, he found himself attracted to the more personalized and preventative approach to wellness afforded by personal training.

“Training allows me to develop a special bond with each of my clients, which is now missing from most doctors’ offices. Additionally, more people in this country are getting sick and dying as a result of poor diet and lack of exercise than from anything else, and I want to do something about it,” said Lanré.

Lanré has worked at both small private gyms and large corporate-owned fitness centers before starting Fit4LA. With over 10 years of personal training experience and his strong background in the sciences, Lanré combines his knowledge of motivation, health, nutrition, anatomy and physiology to address all aspects of his clients’ fitness needs.

Lanré utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to exercise. Using elements of cardio,yoga, pilates, and both traditional and non traditional weight training, Lanré engages his clients in a workout that is fun yet, intense and effective. He takes pride in personally tailoring each client’s exercise program, according to their fitness goals and ability levels. Lanré is also a strong believer in the power of proper nutrition and crafts individualized meal plans based on clients’ goals, food preferences and eating habits. Lanre’s diverse experience and knowledge base allow him to construct quality, comprehensive fitness programs that can bring you lifelong results.

Lanré graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, along with additional coursework in Exercise Science, Physiology, Kinesiology and Nutrition. He is also a former EMT paramedic and holds several personal training certifications, including those from both Apex Fitness Group and the National Academy of Sports Medicine. When not training others, Lanré can be found training himself, playing Capoeira or volunteering his time, educating youth on the importance of healthy habits, diet and exercise.
