Well, it’s about that time for the next round of American’s overeating in celebration of a holiday.  The holiday in question would be Christmas.

I don’t know about you, but I am not a Christmas girl but I have been known to partake in a few gallons of eggnog between December and January, and this year has been no different.

I’m working on it though.  I make myself hit the track if I drink too much on any given day.  It’s so addictive.  I’m glad it only comes out once a year.

I came upon a gem this weekend over at Starbucks.  It’s only 500 calories, 100 of which are fat.  I’m speaking of Starbucks’ Turkey Cranberry Orange Relish sandwich.  It comes with dressing (stuffing) and light mayo and lettuce on whole wheat.  I usually skip the bread, but that’s a personal choice.  All I’m saying is that the sandwich is good and comes in at about $5.95.  You should try one.

Still doing the El Pollo Loco thing.  In fact, I was surprised to get a mailer from El Pollo Loco on my door last week announcing that El Pollo Loco has decided to deliver…yep just like Domino’s.  I did not need to know that and it’s getting cold.  Now where did I put that flyer?

My boy Ricky over at Fifth Street Dick’s in Leimert Park has perfected the recipe for making chicken soup.  That’s all I’m going to say on that, oh and I’ll be dropping by this week for another bowl.  Lol.

This year, unlike in years past, I am not worried about overeating on Christmas.  Mainly because I have already made my plans and they are not so much centered around a big holiday meal.  Just like on Thanksgiving I plan to go hiking, then all my single friends and transplants are going to come back to my house and we’re going to make breakfast.  After that, I plan to do some work.  I’ll probably go and visit my family in the afternoon early evening.  If Michelle and Roz are doing the club Michelle’s XXX on Christmas I might pop in and get my dance on Tuesday night and that’s about it.

I’ll be getting up the day after Christmas, the first day of Kwanzaa, Umoja (Unity), and hiking as well.

My bigger issues stem from munching throughout the day on stuff I know I don’t need to be munching on.  You know the stuff that’s everywhere you go because it’s the holidays.  Candy, cake, chips, every flavor popcorn you can imagine, and of course, eggnog.

I’m working on my willpower, lol.

New hikers this week included Carol and her man Jacoby who came down from Valencia.  It was cold but we had a good time.

The hiking schedule is posted on my calendar if you’re in L.A. or will be for the holidays and you want to go, hit me up.

If you have any tips on how to not overeat during the holidays that don’t include wiring your mouth closed, please share.

Have a great week!

P.S. Week 39, 165 pounds…71 down from 236.
