I have fallen in love with skinny pants.  I love them and I love the fact that I can fit them even more, lol.

So we are officially in count down mode with just five pounds to go.  It seems like only yesterday I was weighing in at an appalling 236 pounds!  And now I am soo close.

I put in some extra efforts this week and went hiking three days.  If you’re in Los Angeles, then you know what a feat that was considering our current heatwave.  I went in the late evenings around 7 p.m. when the sun was going down.  While it wasn’t 100 degrees out there it was damn near close to it.  What helps me get through it is my iPod.  I swear, without my Get Me Bodied by Beyonce and Unk’s Walk It Out remix  with a little bit of Macy Gray’s Do Something, I don’t know what I’d do.  I also have been sticking to fruits and salads solely (watermelon, bananas, and pears)  I think I started to get a little too happy by eating things that I know I don’t need to have but felt I could have since I lost so much weight.  And while that may be true in the future, I am not there yet and I need to watch what I eat very carefully.

Move over Sun Chips, Trader Joe’s Sweet Potato Chips are now my favorite chips and lucky for me, they’re on the more healthy end of the chip scale, lol.  I mentioned that for any of you looking for a decent snack to have that still has some flavor to it.

Well, I guess it’s all going to be put to the test over the next couple of weeks as I hit the road on Labor Day.  I’m headed to D.C. for work and with that means the opportunity to eat very badly and to not exercise.  Pray for a sista, lol.  I do not want to come back home weighing more than when I left.  That would just be a shame.  Especially when I am five, count em’, five pounds away from my goal.  It’s within reach (arms stretched out), lol.

Last but not least, my 30th birthday party is the works and this year besides celebrating the fact that I am crossing the point of no return and turning 30, I am celebrating my weight loss and my new job (yes, I do work, lol).  So if you’re in Los Angeles on October 23rd and relatively sane, feel free to join the party.  And if you’re not sure where you fall on the sane schedule, no worries, there will be security there to help you figure it out, lol.

Okay, I’ll check in back next week.
