I am not going to even get into the fact that Los Angeles, a city that is supposedly in a budget deficit, put up millions of dollars today to cover the cost of dealing with a public memorial for Michael Jackson, I’d be writing all day. But in regards to the Willy Wonka like Golden Tickets pandemonium that just ensued for today’s event…there are two points that I’d like to make. One, if you don’t have an email address today, you miss out on a lot of opportunities. Two, the only winners in all of this are AEG who just collected a record 1.5 million email addresses of hopeful memorial attendees who they can now separate by zip code and send spam to about upcoming events at their venues. And don’t think they won’t.
